About HerStory Initiative Society:
HerStory Initiative Society is a vibrant, youth-led, Afghan women-centred startup based in Vancouver, Canada. We’re on a mission to amplify the voices and stories of Afghan girls and women who’ve faced the challenges of conflict and displacement. Through heartfelt digital storytelling, mentorship, and advocacy, we create a safe space for Afghan women to share their unique experiences and reclaim their narratives. Our initiatives, like InTheirWords and NexusTalk, weave connections, spark understanding, and celebrate the resilience of Afghan women.
Position Overview:
HerStory Initiative Society is seeking a highly organized and motivated Volunteer Operations Assistant to support the new season of the NexusTalk Project. This role involves assisting with administrative tasks, expense and budget tracking, research for interviews and travel planning, and communication with potential interviewees. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in nonprofit operations and project coordination. Current business students are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Record expenses, organize documents, and maintain budget trackers
Research flight and accommodation options for NexusTalk-related travel
Conduct research on potential interviewees and prepare background information
Communicate with interviewees to coordinate scheduling and follow-up
Support general administrative and operational tasks for the NexusTalk Project
Qualifications
Required:
Proficiency with SharePoint, Outlook, Zoom, and Canva
Strong written communication skills
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
