Vancouver, BC (November 24, 2024): Nila Ibrahimi, a 17-year-old Afghan activist and Co-Founder of HerStory, has been honored with the International Children’s Peace Prize at a landmark ceremony marking the award’s 20th anniversary in Amsterdam. The accolade recognizes Nila’s extraordinary advocacy for the rights of Afghan girls and her role as a global voice for change.

Nila Ibrahimi, HerStory’s Co-Founder and President as well as the Women and Girls Ambassador at the 30 Birds Foundation, spoke at the Story Studio of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) and at the UN Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) during the United Nations 79th General Assembly last week in New York City.

University of the Fraser Valley, August 15, 2021 — HerStory, in collaboration with Sustainable UFV and UFV Chasi Hub at the University of Fraser Valley (UFV), organized a walk-out at UFV to mark the third anniversary of Afghanistan's fall to the Taliban. The event drew a significant turnout, including UFV professors, staff, and students, united in their support for Afghan women.
