HerStory's Co-founder and President, Nila Ibrahimi, received MOSAIC's Human Rights Award on Thursday in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Nila was recognized for her advocacy work for Afghan women and girls, particularly for their right to education, through her work at HerStory and speaking in many local and international events such as the Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy in 2023 and TED Vancouver in 2024.
According to MOSAIC, this award is presented to individuals who have significantly contributed to human rights, ethnic relations, and humanitarianism.
MOSAIC is a Canadian non-profit organization supporting and empowering immigrants, refugees, and newcomers. Established in 1976, MOSAIC provides a wide range of services, including settlement assistance, language training, employment support, and community engagement programs, to help individuals and families integrate into Canadian society. The organization is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and human rights.
